Marian is based near Shipston-on-Stour, and works throughout south Warwickshire & the northern Cotswolds, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow, Broadway & Chipping Campden.
Before re-training as a garden designer, Marian spent many years working in finance. She had always had a passion for plants expressed through her own gardens - initially the tiny walled garden of a London flat, and then larger suburban and village gardens in Sussex and Warwickshire. She undertook formal garden design training with the prestigious Pickard School of Garden Design, graduating with a professional Diploma in Garden Design. Her finance background means that she is combines knowledge of planting and design with practical business skills.
Marian designs both traditional and contemporary gardens, firmly believing that a garden should sit comfortably in its surroundings whilst reflecting the practical and aesthetic desires of its owners. As gardens increasingly come to be regarded as an additional room it becomes more important to enhance this valuable area and to optimise the use of the space, whether you have a tiny courtyard or a large plot.
Marian is chair of her local garden club, edits its newsletter, alongside maintaining the club website and acting as club photographer.
